About the Part-Time Reception Teacher role
The Reception Teacher will lead daily phonics and language sessions, co-design play-based continuous provision and plan early mathematics routines as the Reception Teacher. The Reception Teacher will use high-quality observation and assessment to tailor next steps for each child as the Reception Teacher, will run targeted adult-led sessions, and will lead family engagement activities in the term following January 2026. Although Part-Time, the Reception Teacher will be fully integrated into the EYFS team and will attend core CPD days beginning January 2026.
Reception Teacher — day-to-day expectations
Mornings: the Reception Teacher will run focused phonics, storytelling and early numeracy routines. Afternoons: the Reception Teacher will plan environments, review observations and liaise with parents and TAs as the Reception Teacher. The Reception Teacher will prepare materials and join induction meetings prior to January 2026, attend induction in January 2026, and commence teaching from January 2026.
Person specification — Reception Teacher
We are looking for a Reception Teacher with QTS/EYTS (or equivalent), confident early years pedagogical knowledge and excellent communication skills. The Reception Teacher must be available for pre-term planning prior to January 2026, induction in January 2026, and to teach from January 2026 as the Part-Time Reception Teacher.
