Issuer Services Data Manager (Director)

Team/Role Overview
The Issuer Services Data Manager role is a senior level role managing a team responsible for defining and executing all aspects of the Enterprise Data Governance Strategy, Policy and Control Framework for our Agency & Trust and Depository Receipts businesses. This role is responsible for defining the Issuer Services data strategy, governance framework and roadmap, including alignment with related enterprise-wide and business/function/region data governance documentation. Excellent communication skills required to negotiate internally with Global Cluster Heads, Product Heads and ExCo members, often at a senior level. Some external communication/negotiation may be necessary.
The role is a senior level Product management position accountable for delivering a first-class experience for consumers of Issuer Services data. The role requires an individual with strong data expertise, with specialist program management industry experience. You have previously built, led and scaled data product teams working across Engineering, Operations and Product teams. You have experience modeling Sales / Client, Transaction Management, Product Management and Operational domains inclusive of Reference & Static data-sets.
You are a change agent, curious and passionate about data and technology, with critical focus on delivering business outcomes through data.
What you’ll do
- Full management responsibility for a team or multiple teams, including management of people, to include performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions and terminations and budget approval
- Close collaboration with data governance and data stewards for consistent application and adoption of policies, controls, and programs to ensure data is accurate, complete, secure, and reliable.
- Liaise with business/function/regional partners to understand and align Data Governance, and/or Data Risk and Control related work
- Manage and lead Data Governance, and/or Data Risk and Control, policy, practices, and standards including industry best practices
- Drive progress, and provide guidance for adherence and continued development of enterprise-wide guiding policies, practices and standards
- Develop materials to effectively and concisely articulate progress on the Data Governance strategy and/or Data Risk and Control framework for senior leadership and regulatory updates
- Work with data consumers to capture and prioritize their needs and convert into value
- Work with Product counterparts to deliver well defined data products using a robust, scalable publish to consumer architecture.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
What we’ll need from you
- Long proven relevant experience in a banking (Issuer Services - as a plus), finance organization or consulting
- People Management experience
- Strategic mindset, with ability to foresee future possibilities and translate them into breakthrough strategies
- Demonstrated experience in the disciplines of Data modeling, data Governance with strong focus on Investment Management domains.
- Ability to manage multiple activities and changing priorities and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
- Excellent organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Attention to detail is a must, with excellent verbal, written and relationship skills to be used to interact with a global group. Develops and delivers multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences; able to drive consensus, and influence relationships at all levels

- Manage through ambiguity by making sense of complex, high quantity and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems
- Experience creating and executing against frameworks that improve the quality and value of data to meet regulatory commitments and enhance risk management. Experience leveraging glossary, lineage, and data quality tools to drive governance
- Understanding of the overall regulatory environment and previous experience working with regulators on data plan execution, preferred
