About the role
You’ll own and evolve The Observer’s digital product experience across web and app.
Working at the intersection of editorial, commercial and technology, you’ll turn ideas into products that drive audience growth and deepen engagement.
Responsibilities
Own and drive the product roadmap across Observer.co.uk and native apps
Balance user needs, business priorities and technical constraints to deliver meaningful outcomes
Lead sprint planning and prioritisation to maximise impact
Translate complex ideas into clear product requirements, user journeys and success metrics
Partner closely with editorial, marketing and engineering to bring ideas to life
Identify opportunities through data, user insight and market trends
Deliver end-to-end product development — from concept through to launch and iteration
Track performance, learn fast and continuously improve
About you
You’re a thoughtful, commercially minded Product Manager who cares about both the “why” and the “how”.
You’re comfortable navigating ambiguity, bringing people together and turning ideas into tangible outcomes.
Think strategically but act pragmatically
Enjoy working cross-functionally and influencing without authority
Care deeply about user experience and storytelling
Are curious, proactive and comfortable challenging thinking
Take ownership and follow through
Experience managing digital products, ideally in subscription, media or content-led businesses

Confidence working with technical teams and translating complexity into clarity
Ability to build clear product narratives and align stakeholders
Strong communication skills — written, verbal and visual
