Year 3 Teacher - Barnet
A popular primary school in Barnet is recruiting an enthusiastic Year 3 Teacher to start January 2026. The successful Year 3 Teacher will plan and deliver sequenced, knowledge-rich lessons that build pupils’ fluency in reading, writing and mathematics. This Year 3 Teacher post in Barnet will involve planning medium-term units, delivering targeted small-group work and contributing to whole-school curriculum development. The Year 3 Teacher will take part in induction and collaborative planning sessions ahead of January 2026, ensuring a confident spring-term start in January 2026.

The Year 3 Teacher will use assessment to set precise next steps, lead intervention groups and work together with teaching assistants to scaffold learning. The Year 3 Teacher will contribute to phase moderation, engage parents in learning conversations and help run enrichment activities that enhance pupils’ cultural and academic experiences in Barnet.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver sequenced Year 3 lessons that build knowledge, vocabulary and application.
- Use formative and summative assessment to identify priorities and organise high-impact small-group work.
- Work with support staff to scaffold tasks and provide targeted intervention that secures progress.
- Maintain clear records of progress, contribute to moderation and keep families informed of next steps.
- Participate in whole-school initiatives that improve outcomes across the Barnet community.
Person specification
- Qualified teacher with recent, successful experience in Key Stage 2 and strong Year 3 practice.
- Secure subject knowledge in English and mathematics, effective behaviour strategies and strong classroom routines.
- Organised, reflective and committed to collaborative working within Barnet.
- Able to start January 2026 and to attend induction and handover sessions prior to January 2026.
