SENCO - Wandsworth
Would you welcome a focused, high-impact SENCO role in Wandsworth beginning January 2026? This SENCO post offers flexibility (part-time or job-share considered) while retaining full leadership responsibility for SEND. The successful SENCO will plan ahead of January 2026, attend induction in January 2026, and begin coordinating provision from January 2026. The SENCO will be fully included in senior leadership meetings and strategic planning from January 2026.
A week in the life - SENCO
Monday: the SENCO leads phase meetings, reviews interventions and meets families as the SENCO. Tuesday: the SENCO holds multi-agency meetings, updates EHCP paperwork and supports class teachers as the SENCO. Wednesday: the SENCO delivers staff training and models inclusive lessons as the SENCO. Thursday: the SENCO analyses progress data and advises on targeted interventions as the SENCO. Friday: the SENCO meets governors and prepares reports - this cycle begins before January 2026 and continues after January 2026.
SENCO Responsibilities
The SENCO will: identify needs and coordinate provision maps as the SENCO; oversee assessment cycles and intervention monitoring as the SENCO; lead statutory reviews and communicate effectively with families and professionals as the SENCO. The SENCO will ensure records are maintained and that the school complies with statutory guidance after January 2026.
SENCO Requirements
We seek an experienced SENCO with the national SENCO qualification, excellent organisational skills and proven leadership in primary inclusion. The SENCO must be available for planning prior to January 2026, for induction in January 2026, and for the role from January 2026. Strong interpersonal skills and the capacity to coach teaching staff are essential for the SENCO.
