Data Centre Infrastructure Intern
This London-based technology startup is working at the intersection of artificial intelligence, data and physical computing infrastructure. The business is building technology designed to address complex challenges within the rapidly developing AI sector, providing an environment where graduates can gain exposure to both technical problem-solving and real-world infrastructure deployment. Job Overview
As a Data Centre Infrastructure intern , you will work closely with a highly experienced technology leader with more than 25 years of industry experience. Your focus will be supporting the deployment of core data centre infrastructure and helping bring compute capacity online. This is a practical support role suited to someone who enjoys solving problems, learning quickly and taking ownership of tasks. You will work directly under the guidance of the senior technology leader, responding to priorities and contributing across hardware, software and data centre systems. Here's what you'll be doing:
- Support the deployment and commissioning of core data centre and compute infrastructure.
- Work directly with a senior technology leader to complete technical tasks and resolve operational problems.
- Assist with troubleshooting across hardware, software, networking and physical infrastructure.
- Follow technical instructions carefully while developing your own judgement and problem-solving approach.
- Help bring compute capacity online and ensure deployment tasks are completed accurately and to a high standard.
- Communicate progress, issues and technical findings clearly throughout the deployment project.
- A relevant degree, ideally in Network Engineering or a closely related technical discipline.
- A genuine interest in physical infrastructure, data centres, networking and compute systems.
- Strong attention to detail and a willingness to complete work thoroughly without taking shortcuts.
- Clear communication skills, reliability and the ability to work closely with an experienced technical leader.
- A practical, hands-on approach to solving problems across software, hardware and infrastructure.
- The motivation to work in a fast-paced environment and take responsibility for completing tasks under direction.
- £24,000-£30,000 salary equivalent , Depending on prior experience.
- Three-month internship with a potential pathway to a permanent position.
- Direct exposure to a senior technology leader with extensive industry experience.
- Hands-on experience with live data centre and compute infrastructure deployment.
- Opportunity to develop practical technical, troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
