L3 Storage & Backup Engineer, Associate Manager

Accenture
London

Job Description

L3 Network Engineer, Assoc Manager

Location: UK (London - must be willing to travel to client sites throughout the UK on an ad hoc basis)

Salary: Competitive salary and package (Depending on level of experience)

Accenture are partnering with scaled UK AI compute pioneers to lead the charge on next-generation infrastructure. To support this endeavour, we’re building a high-performance compute operations team in London.

Our work will be sensitive, secure, 24x7 and on the most up-to-date high density compute stacks available. Shift teams will be setup and operate 24x7 and successful candidates working on shift will be paid a shift premium for the non-standard unsociable shift hours that will be part of that rota.

Any offer of employment is subject to satisfactory BPSS and SC security clearance which requires 5 years continuous UK address history (typically including no periods of 30 consecutive days or more spent outside of the UK) at the point of application.

Key Responsibilities:

•Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise storage systems, SAN/NAS solutions, and backup environments to meet organizational needs.

•Develop and implement robust backup policies, retention schedules, and disaster recovery plans, ensuring minimal data loss and rapid restoration capabilities.

•Conduct regular system audits, performance tuning, and capacity planning to optimize storage availability and scalability.

•Monitor and manage NOC (Network Operations Centre) operations related to storage and backup, ensuring incidents are resolved within SLA targets.

•Collaborate with cross-functional teams including networking, server, security, and application stakeholders to deliver integrated, reliable services.

•Oversee patch management, upgrades, and decommissioning of legacy storage and backup infrastructure.

•Document architecture, configurations, procedures, and incident resolutions for compliance and knowledge transfer.

•Root cause analysis for storage or backup-related incidents.

Required Skills:

•Proven technical expertise in enterprise storage technologies (e.g., Dell EMC, NetApp, HPE), SAN/NAS administration, and backup solutions (e.g., CommVault, Veeam, Veritas).

•Strong understanding of networking, server platforms, and operating systems (Windows and Linux environments).

•Advanced analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex data storage and backup issues.

•Experience with automation tools, monitoring platforms, and scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Python) to streamline storage and backup operations.

•Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working across technical and non-technical teams.

•Familiarity with compliance requirements and best practices for data protection, retention, and disaster recovery.

Qualification

•Relevant industry certifications such as Dell EMC Proven Professional, NetApp Certified, HPE ASE, Veeam Certified Engineer (VMCE), or equivalent.

•ITIL Foundation or higher certification is preferred.

•NVIDIA DLI or other certifications in emerging data and AI infrastructure are a plus
