Cover Teacher – Secondary Schools (South East London)

Location: Greenwich & surrounding areas Start Date: September 2025 Contract: Full-Time | Term-Time Only

Key Responsibilities :

• Supervise lessons in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring students stay focused and productive

• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies to maintain a positive learning environment

• Deliver pre-set lesson plans and instructions with clarity and confidence

• Support students with their assigned work, offering guidance where needed

• Respond to minor issues or emergencies calmly and professionally

• Collect and return completed work to the appropriate staff

• Communicate effectively with teachers and school leaders regarding student progress and concerns

• Uphold safeguarding responsibilities and report any concerns appropriately

• Be flexible and willing to cover a range of subjects and year groups

• Confident classroom presence and a professional attitude

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to follow instructions and work independently

• Calm, resilient, and capable of managing behaviour effectively

• Adaptable across subjects and age groups

• Previous experience in schools or working with young people is a plus, but not essential
