Role Summary

The role supports the delivery of secure Azure and hybrid cloud platforms, working across client engagements to define security architecture, provide delivery oversight, and ensure security is embedded throughout the solution lifecycle. The role requires strong Azure security expertise combined with the ability to operate in complex, multi‑stakeholder delivery environments.

Security Architect (Cloud & Azure)

Role Purpose

The Security Architect is accountable for shaping and assuring secure technology solutions for complex client environments, with a particular focus on Microsoft Azure and cloud platforms. The role operates at the intersection of security strategy, architecture, and delivery, ensuring security is embedded by design and pragmatically implemented.

At Career Level 9, the role combines deep technical credibility with strong stakeholder engagement, operating with a high degree of autonomy while contributing to overall engagement success and practice capability.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and own security architecture design for Azure‑based and hybrid cloud solutions across client engagements

• Translate business, regulatory, and risk requirements into clear, implementable security architectures

• Define and govern security patterns covering identity, network security, platform services, encryption, and monitoring

• Provide architectural oversight and challenge to cloud engineering teams, ensuring alignment to secure‑by‑design principles

• Perform security design reviews, threat modelling, and architectural risk assessments

• Support assurance and sign‑off activities, including remediation planning where required

• Act as a trusted security advisor to client stakeholders

• Contribute to Accenture security assets, patterns, and methodologies, particularly in cloud security

Qualification

Key Skills & Experience

Essential

• Proven experience operating as a Security Architect in enterprise and cloud environments

• Strong hands‑on expertise in Microsoft Azure security, including Azure AD / Entra ID, networking, and platform security controls

• Strong understanding of cloud security principles (e.g. Zero Trust, defence in depth, identity‑centric security)

• Experience producing security architecture documentation and engaging with both delivery teams and governance forums

Desirable

• Experience supporting large‑scale cloud transformation programmes

• Exposure to regulated or high‑assurance environments

• Experience aligning security controls to recognised standards and frameworks

• Relevant cloud or security certifications
