About the Role
As Caretaker, you will be responsible for ensuring the school premises are secure, clean, and well-maintained. This role requires a hands-on approach and the ability to respond quickly and efficiently to a wide range of maintenance needs.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Opening and closing the school site each day

  • Performing routine maintenance and minor repairs across the school buildings and grounds

  • Ensuring playgrounds, classrooms, and communal areas are clean and safe

  • Monitoring heating, lighting, and security systems

  • Supporting the setup of classrooms, halls, and outdoor spaces for events and activities

  • Conducting basic health and safety checks and reporting any issues

  • Liaising with contractors and suppliers as required

Experience and Skills

The successful candidate will:

  • Have experience in caretaking, facilities, maintenance, or a similar role

  • Be practical, reliable, and able to carry out minor repairs

  • Demonstrate a good understanding of health and safety procedures

  • Be organised, proactive, and capable of working independently

  • Have good communication skills when interacting with staff, contractors, and visitors

Experience in a school environment is desirable but not essential, as training can be provided.
