Caretaker - Outstanding Primary School - Kensington

About the Role
As Caretaker, you will be responsible for ensuring the school premises are secure, clean, and well-maintained. This role requires a hands-on approach and the ability to respond quickly and efficiently to a wide range of maintenance needs.
Your responsibilities will include:
Opening and closing the school site each day
Performing routine maintenance and minor repairs across the school buildings and grounds
Ensuring playgrounds, classrooms, and communal areas are clean and safe
Monitoring heating, lighting, and security systems
Supporting the setup of classrooms, halls, and outdoor spaces for events and activities
Conducting basic health and safety checks and reporting any issues
Liaising with contractors and suppliers as required
Experience and Skills
The successful candidate will:
Have experience in caretaking, facilities, maintenance, or a similar role
Be practical, reliable, and able to carry out minor repairs
Demonstrate a good understanding of health and safety procedures
Be organised, proactive, and capable of working independently
Have good communication skills when interacting with staff, contractors, and visitors
Experience in a school environment is desirable but not essential, as training can be provided.
