Nursery Teacher - Richmond
A well-resourced school in Richmond is recruiting an experienced and caring Nursery Teacher to join their Early Years team from January 2026. The appointed Nursery Teacher will design play-based learning experiences that develop children’s communication, physical development and personal, social and emotional skills. This Nursery Teacher role offers strong mentorship, excellent outdoor provision and close partnership with families across Richmond. The Nursery Teacher will be part of a friendly team committed to raising standards and ensuring children thrive.
• Nursery Teacher required for a full-time or part-time position
• Nursery Teacher required to work within a busy early years setting in Richmond
• Nursery Teacher to lead high-quality nursery provision and support transition into Reception
The successful Nursery Teacher will maintain accurate observations, plan purposeful next steps and coordinate smooth transition work with Reception teachers. The post begins January 2026, with induction activities scheduled in the weeks leading to January 2026 so the Nursery Teacher can be classroom-ready from day one. Richmond parents value the school’s warm approach, and the Nursery Teacher will have the chance to build positive relationships with families across Richmond.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver stimulating, child-centred nursery activities that promote language and physical skills.
- Observe children regularly and use assessment evidence to plan purposeful next steps and group work.
- Manage daily routines, safeguarding procedures and maintain a safe indoor/outdoor environment.
- Work with parents and colleagues to support transitions into Reception and sustain continuity of learning.
- Contribute to early-years planning, staff training and whole-school improvement initiatives.
Person specification
- Relevant early-years qualifications and demonstrable nursery experience.
- Strong understanding of child development, observation techniques and effective planning.
- Calm, organised and skilled at building warm relationships with children and families.
- Commitment to professional development and to working within the Richmond school community.
- Available to start January 2026 and able to be based in Richmond.
