We are recruiting a dedicated Year 5 Teacher for a well-resourced school in Brent. The Year 5 Teacher will plan and deliver ambitious sequences across English, maths and foundation subjects, lead targeted interventions to accelerate progress and prepare pupils for upper KS2 expectations. This Year 5 Teacher vacancy begins January 2026, with induction and handover scheduled before January 2026 so the Year 5 Teacher can start the spring term ready.

Main duties

• Teach sequenced Year 5 lessons that deepen subject knowledge and reasoning.

• Lead booster groups and run focused small-group tuition to close attainment gaps.

• Use assessment to identify priorities and to inform next-step planning across Year 5.

• Contribute to phase moderation, curriculum development and enrichment activities in Brent.

• Communicate outcomes with parents and support transition planning into Year 6.

Person specification

• Qualified teacher with proven upper-KS2 experience and strong Year 5 classroom impact.

• Excellent planning, assessment and behaviour-management skills; collaborative and reflective.

• Available to commence January 2026 and to attend induction and handover before January 2026.
