International Business Development Manager
Job Title: International Business Development Manager - Southeast Region
Location: Remote (within region, SE London, Surrey, Sussex, Kent)
About the Role
Following a period of growth Royal Mail are looking for a strategic and commercially astute Business Development Manager to accelerate our growth in the international export parcels market. You will develop targeted sales activity within the Southeast building lasting commercial relationships, and delivering innovative international solutions. Working collaboratively across Royal Mail Group, you will play a pivotal role in securing new revenue streams and increasing our share of international business through insight-led engagement and proposition development.
You will be accountable for achieving a revenue target, delivering a qualified and sustainable opportunity pipeline, and leading sales plans that contribute to our broader growth objectives.
Responsibilities
- Exploit trends in international markets to identify and develop strategic opportunities for Royal Mail
- Convert customer needs into commercial wins by promoting tailored e-commerce export solutions
- Identify market trends and opportunities to sell international products and services.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of new export propositions in collaboration with business units
- Build strong relationships with decision-makers, creating strategic alliances where mutual value exists
- Apply your sector knowledge and working in national and regional sales pitch teams, you will work cross functional to develop medium to long term sales strategies for international clients
- Introduce new international solutions to increase Royal Mail’s share of wallet among UK customers
- Provide internal and external thought leadership on international developments across the region
- Maintain accurate sales records to support reward and recognition eligibility
- Support regional colleagues through training and upskilling in international service offerings
Skills and Experience
- Excellent understanding of international business models and e-commerce solution providers
- Strong grasp of the international parcels market and distribution channels such as consolidators
- Proven ability to build collaborative relationships and lead opportunity development
- Commercially driven with a challenger mindset focused on securing optimal outcomes
- Exceptional written communication, presentation and proposal development skills
- Skilled negotiator with expertise in call planning, strategic pitching and solution selling
- Experience generating new business and managing sales pipelines in international markets is desirable

Please note, this is a remote/home based role covering SE London, Surrey, Sussex and Kent. You will be expected to live within one of these areas and able to travel to see clients when required.
