About the Role

A well-established primary school in Haringey is seeking a dedicated Intervention Teaching Assistant to join their team immediately. The role focuses on providing targeted support to pupils with SEN , helping them close learning gaps, gain confidence, and reach their academic potential.

You will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to deliver 1:1 and small group interventions , including literacy, numeracy, and emotional support programs. This role is perfect for someone who is patient, adaptable, and passionate about inclusive education .

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver 1:1 and small group interventions in literacy, numeracy, and social skills

  • Support pupils in achieving targets set in ILPs and EHCPs

  • Monitor progress, record outcomes, and communicate with teachers and SENCO

  • Promote positive behavior, emotional regulation, and independence

  • Assist class teachers in differentiated classroom activities

  • Collaborate with external specialists, therapists, and parents as needed

  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development sessions

Person Specification

  • Previous experience in SEN support or intervention delivery

  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills

  • Ability to work 1:1 or in small groups effectively

  • Empathy, patience, and excellent interpersonal skills

  • Proactive, organized, and flexible

  • Relevant qualifications such as Level 3 TA, ELSA, or SEN training

Desirable: Experience with Little Wandle, 1st Class@Number, or Lexia programs .
