A welcoming and well-established primary school in Southwark is seeking a committed Year 5 Teacher to join their team from March to July 2026.

This full-time Year 5 Teacher position offers the opportunity to teach a class of 30 pupils within a two-form entry setting. The year group benefits from strong behaviour, a positive attitude to learning, and supportive families.

The successful Year 5 Teacher will be delivering lessons that are already planned by the school. Planning frameworks and resources are in place, meaning the Year 5 Teacher will primarily focus on adapting and refining materials to suit the needs of the class rather than planning from scratch.

The school is proud of its Good Ofsted rating and is known locally as a happy, nurturing environment with a strong sense of community. Staff work collaboratively across year groups, and the incoming Year 5 Teacher will have the support of a parallel class teacher and an approachable leadership team.

This Year 5 Teacher role is based in Southwark with excellent transport connections. It is a temporary contract running from March through to July 2026, offering a daily rate between £150 and £200, depending on experience.

The ideal Year 5 Teacher will:

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• Have experience in Key Stage 2

• Demonstrate secure classroom management skills

• Be confident delivering engaging and structured lessons

• Work effectively as part of a two-form entry team

This opportunity would suit an experienced practitioner or a confident early career Year 5 Teacher looking to further develop their KS2 experience in a supportive school.
