As a Commercial Banking Manager you are accountable for delivering the Metro Bank brand and business model for Commercial Banking, maintaining and growing the commercial book. We strongly believe in a and to find the very best person for the job, we always look across a wide range of diverse .


What you will do:

  • You need to build key relationships with key internal stakeholders
  • Manage all aspects of Risk, Operational and Regulatory
  • Demonstrate ability to maximise the customer relationship whilst being compliant during customer interactions with awareness of Treating Customers Fairly (TCF)
  • Manage, influence and build an internal network across Metro Bank to ensure a One Team approach for customers and colleagues
  • Liaise with other internal stakeholders to deliver required propositions and pricing requirements, risk policies and reporting set and managed within appetites
  • Make decisions to support Metro Bank’s business objectives whilst reinforcing the correct Metro Bank operational processes and ensuring we get things right the first time for the customer.
  • Responsible for financial crime risk of the department and report to necessary stakeholder/management
  • Knowledge of requirements of onboarding clients from a variety of jurisdictions
  • Ability to generate new business and be an ambassador for the brand to external stakeholders
  • Be aware of the capabilities of the Metro Bank Group and identify customer needs so that we can service, these needs within our capability, e.g., Asset Finance, Invoice Discounting, Bacstel, Credit Cards, Cash Management Solutions, FX needs, Borrowing requirements.
  • Support retail colleagues in local Stores and across the bank
  • Actively looking for ways to challenge and improve processes to benefit the customer
  • Be a role model for the Inward Investment Team and Metro Bank when dealing with customers, intermediaries and colleague

What you will need:

  • Understand the risks associated with your job and what that means for you, Metro Bank and all our stakeholders
  • Fluent in key language in addition to English, eg French, German, Italian Japanese, Dutch, Spanish
  • Excellent communication and customer/client relationship management with the ethos of providing exceptional customer service.
  • Be a People-People person with great communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to make complex instructions simple for our customers to understand
  • A self starter, motivated to meet or exceed your own personal and business objectives
  • Ability to build rapport internally and externally.
  • Track record in successfully building, maintaining and growing valuable commercial banking relationships
