Commercial Fit-Out - Painting & Decorating Packages

We are seeking a Painting Estimator to join our commercial fit-out team, specialising in tendering for painting and decorating packages across high-profile projects. You will play a key role in analysing drawings, specifications, and project requirements to produce accurate and competitive bids that support business growth and profitability.

The Role

As a Painting Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for painting and decorating works on commercial fit-out schemes. Working closely with clients, project managers, and the wider commercial team, you will ensure that all bids are competitive, compliant, and aligned with company objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

Reviewing drawings, blueprints, and specifications to assess painting and decorating requirements

Calculating quantities and costs for materials, labour, equipment, and overheads

Preparing detailed tender submissions, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness

Keeping up to date with market pricing and supplier costs to ensure realistic estimates

Liaising with clients, project managers, and supply chain partners during the tender process

Identifying risks, value engineering opportunities, and commercial options to maximise profitability

Supporting handover to project teams following successful bids

About You

We’re looking for a commercially aware Estimator with strong technical knowledge of painting and decorating processes. You will bring:

Experience in estimating painting and decorating packages (commercial fit-out experience desirable)

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents

Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail

Good knowledge of current market rates, materials, and labour costs

Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships internally and externally

Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple tenders simultaneously
