Job Description
We are hiring a high‑performing Strategic Account Executive to accelerate new‑logo growth across the global financial markets ecosystem. This is a pure new business role, responsible for originating, shaping, and closing high‑value opportunities with sophisticated institutional buyers including hedge funds, CTAs, prop shops, trading firms, and global investment organizations.
You will combine consultative, value-led selling with disciplined outbound activity, strategic account planning, and deep technical credibility. This role requires a seller who can confidently engage portfolio managers, quant researchers, CIOs, data engineering teams, and senior trading desks - and translate complex market challenges into differentiated Fastmarkets solutions spanning data, analytics, forecasts, and platform offerings.
Success in this role requires a blend of commercial sharpness, industry fluency, technical depth, and relentless execution.
Principle Accountabilities
New Logo Acquisition
- Own the full 360 sales cycle from origination through to close.
- Build and convert a robust pipeline aligned to Strategic AE thresholds.
- Drive disciplined opportunity strategy, multi‑threading, and high‑velocity execution.
- Deliver consistently against a defined new business ARR quota.
Prospecting & Market Penetration
- Execute targeted outbound strategies across hedge funds, systematic shops, brokers, banks, and PE firms.
- Leverage existing senior‑level networks to open new doors and secure high‑quality introductions.
- Penetrate complex accounts by engaging PMs, traders, quants, researchers, data scientists, and investment teams.
- Prioritize strategic territories and whitespace based on TAM, workflow suitability, and data‑driven targeting.
Inbound Deal Management
- Rapidly qualify inbound enquiries using a consultative, pain‑based discovery framework.
- Map client challenges to Fastmarkets’ differentiated data assets, methodologies, forecasts, and analytics capabilities.
- Drive trials, evaluations, and commercial progression with precision.
Sales Process Excellence
- Run a structured, repeatable, value‑based sales process that withstands scrutiny from technical buyers.
- Maintain rigorous forecasting, CRM hygiene, pipeline quality, and disciplined territory execution in Salesforce.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Marketing, Product, Editorial, Pricing Specialists, and subject-matter experts to build high‑impact client engagements.
- Orchestrate multi‑disciplinary teams to deliver tailored demos, proposals, and proofs of value.

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
We are looking for an individual who is highly motivated, driven, and have a passion to be part of a fast-paced, successful team. Being a strong team player is also important as well as someone who is happy to work flexibly.
Essential
- Financial & Commodities markets expertise – fluency across global commodities, trading products (futures, swaps, options), data/analytics ecosystems, PRA methodology, and relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Proven success selling to Quant & Systematic funds – demonstrated ability to influence CIOs, Heads of Research, PMs and Quant teams; strong understanding of quant workflows.
- New Business hunter with Enterprise sales discipline – strong focus on new logos, pipeline creation, velocity, win rate and ACV growth. Experience closing mid-to-high value SaaS, data, analytics, or information‑services deals.
- Technical & data fluency – strong grasp of APIs, data schemas, normalization, delivery mechanisms, timestamping etc to engage confidently with technical buyers.
Preferred
- Advanced strategic selling skills – ability to run value‑based, outcome‑oriented cycles and articulate how methodology transparency links to alpha generation, model stability, and governance advantages.
- Existing network across hedge funds, sell‑side and buy‑side trading desks, or private equity.
