Design & Technology Teacher
You would be joining a highly successful Design & Technology department where creativity, innovation and practical learning are central to the curriculum. The department benefits from outstanding specialist workshops, CAD/CAM facilities, modern machinery and excellent technical support, allowing students to develop high-quality practical and design skills across a variety of disciplines.
Students are encouraged to think creatively while developing technical knowledge through exciting projects that promote design thinking, problem-solving and innovation. Lessons combine practical workshop activities with theoretical understanding, enabling students to produce high-quality outcomes while preparing thoroughly for GCSE and A-Level examinations.
The department delivers a broad curriculum including Product Design, Resistant Materials and Engineering principles, while enrichment opportunities include STEM competitions, engineering projects, design challenges and partnerships with local businesses. Students regularly showcase their work through exhibitions and whole-school events.
Teachers work collaboratively to develop engaging schemes of work, share resources and continually improve teaching and learning. The School offers exceptional CPD, an established ECT programme, leadership opportunities and a supportive culture where staff wellbeing is highly valued.
