We’re looking for a Materials Manager to join our prestigious team at Nuffield Health Parkside Hospital, part of a leading healthcare group committed to delivering outstanding patient care.

About the Role

As Materials Manager, you’ll be at the heart of the hospital! Leading a dedicated team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the stores and distribution service, planning and organising workflow, stock control and staffing levels. You’ll be key in driving cost-effective, compliant, and efficient inventory practices and will work closely with HODs and the hospital leadership team, ensuring seamless communication and strategic alignment.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll inspire your team, implement best practices, and contribute to continuous improvement across the hospital’s supply chain functions.

As Material Manager you will

• Lead, motivate, and develop the Materials team, ensuring high performance and accountability.
• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and audit requirements.
• Collaborate with hospital leadership, finance, and clinical departments to align supply chain strategies with operational needs.
• Drive cost reduction initiatives and operational efficiencies.
• Maintain accurate records, manage budgets, and ensure timely invoice resolution.
• Work with HO on procurement, inventory management, and vendor relationships.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience in supply chain management and team leadership.
• Strong IT skills and familiarity with inventory systems.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Commercial acumen and financial awareness.

• Experience in healthcare supply chain or multisite operations are desirable.
• Lean 6S experience or qualification desirable.
• Familiarity with materials management inventory systems.
