Graduate STEM Teaching Assistant – Hounslow Secondary School

About the Role – Graduate STEM Teaching Assistant

As a Graduate STEM Teaching Assistant , you will play a vital role in supporting teaching and learning across Maths, Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics), Computer Science , and Engineering . Working closely with experienced educators, you’ll help deliver engaging lessons, support targeted interventions, and assist students in reaching their academic potential.

Key responsibilities – Graduate STEM Teaching Assistant

  • Delivering one-to-one and small group academic interventions.
  • Supporting lesson planning, resource preparation, and classroom delivery.
  • Assisting students in preparing for GCSE and A-Level examinations.
  • Contributing to the development of effective teaching strategies.
  • Gaining practical insight into a wide range of educational needs and approaches.

What We’re Looking For – Graduate STEM Teaching Assistant

We are looking for enthusiastic, high-achieving STEM graduates who are:

  • Educated to degree level with a 2:1 or above in a STEM discipline (e.g., Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, Computer Science).
  • Confident in their subject knowledge and able to communicate complex concepts clearly.
  • Professional, reliable, and passionate about making a difference in education.
  • Strong communicators with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Previous experience working with young people (e.g., tutoring, mentoring, outreach) is beneficial but not essential.
  • Considering a future in teaching, education, or academic research.
