A welcoming Primary School in the London Borough of Wandsworth is looking to appoint an experienced and proactive Premises Manager to oversee the management of its buildings, grounds and facilities. This is an excellent opportunity for a facilities professional who takes pride in maintaining a safe, secure and well-presented school environment where children can thrive.
Working closely with the Headteacher and School Business Manager, you will lead the premises function, ensuring the school site is fully compliant, well maintained and ready to support excellent teaching and learning every day.

Premises Team
The Premises Team ensures the school site remains safe, compliant and fully operational throughout the academic year.
Responsibilities
Managing the daily operation of the school site.
Leading the premises and cleaning teams.
Coordinating planned and reactive maintenance.
Managing external contractors and service providers.
Conducting regular site inspections.
Overseeing health and safety compliance.
Monitoring fire safety systems and emergency procedures.
Managing maintenance budgets and schedules.
Maintaining statutory compliance documentation.
Preparing facilities for school events.
Monitoring site security and access arrangements.
Supporting capital improvement projects.
Ensuring buildings and grounds remain well maintained.
Responding to emergency maintenance issues.
Reporting directly to the Headteacher and School Business Manager.
Requirements
Previous premises or facilities management experience.
Experience supervising staff and contractors.
Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation.
Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
Good practical maintenance knowledge.
Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to manage budgets and competing priorities.
Professional and proactive approach.
Commitment to safeguarding.
Ability to work effectively within a busy school environment.
