English Teacher - Islington | Independent Secondary School
We are working with a prestigious independent school in Islington recruiting for an English Teacher. This is an opportunity to join a flagship department that emphasizes rhetoric, critical theory, and the joy of literary analysis.
The Role You will teach English Literature and Language across KS3, KS4, and A-Level. The role focuses on delivering a scholarly curriculum that encourages students to engage with a wide range of classical and contemporary texts. Key responsibilities include:
Delivering literature-rich lessons to small, highly motivated classes
Coaching students for debating competitions and public speaking showcases
Contributing to the school’s literary journals and creative writing clubs
Providing detailed academic feedback to accelerate student progress
Supporting students with university applications and personal statements
