The Chancery Rosewood is redefining luxury in Mayfair, housed in the former U.S. Embassy and reimagined by Sir David Chipperfield. With 144 suites by Joseph Dirand and a collection of dynamic dining and bar spaces, it’s a place where experiences are curated, conversations flow, and every detail matters.
As Head Bartender, you will be the standard-bearer behind the bar — a master of the craft and a natural leader, responsible for delivering an exceptional beverage experience while ensuring the operation runs with precision, energy, and consistency across every shift.
Key Responsibilities
- Set the standard behind the bar — leading by example through technically assured, guest-focused work on every shift and bringing the team with you through coaching, briefings, and in-service support.
- Prepare and serve the full beverage menu with mastery and consistency, personalising recommendations and upselling naturally to enhance each guest’s experience.
- Oversee bar opening and closing, stock management, and mise en place — ensuring every shift begins fully prepared and nothing is left to chance during service.
- Lead confidently in the absence of the Bar Manager, making sound decisions that protect the guest experience and reflect the values of the property.
- Contribute to the ongoing evolution of the bar — sharing ideas for new offerings and seasonal creations, and upholding all responsible service and compliance standards without compromise.
About You
- Connection — You build genuine rapport with guests and colleagues alike, leading your team with warmth, clear communication, and a collaborative spirit.
- Guest-Centricity — You anticipate needs, personalise every interaction, and take pride in service that consistently reflects the standard of a five-star environment.
- Influencing — You communicate with confidence and passion about the full beverage menu, bringing the team with you through knowledge, enthusiasm, and visible expertise.
- Integrity — You uphold bar protocols and service standards consistently, taking personal ownership of issues and raising concerns promptly rather than deferring to others.
- Drive — You bring energy and craft to every service period, taking full ownership of preparation and continuously developing your knowledge of spirits, cocktails, and beverage trends.
- Adaptability — You navigate the shifting rhythms of bar service with composure and quality, embracing new menus and evolving formats with an open and enthusiastic mindset.
