Events Technician

Kingston upon Thames, Greater London

Our client is a Kingston based supplier of event technology and print services globally. They are now looking for an Events Technician to join their growing team.

Salary: £34000 on-target earnings (£30000 basic p.a. + bonus)

The Role

To support continued expansion they’re looking for a new addition to the Tech Team. The role of Events Technician allows you to hone a broad set of skills; setting up and supporting hardware, configuring software, data handling and customer skills. There are opportunities to enhance your development skills.

You will receive hands-on, one-to-one training in setting up, configuring and delivering our technical solutions at live events. After developing the necessary skills you will be tasked with delivering these services at our customers’ events, as part of the Onsite Tech Team.

The job offers an exciting opportunity to be involved in the fast-paced live events industry, delivering a consistently high level of service while working on new innovations.

There are numerous opportunities to travel, as we support events worldwide for some of the world’s best known brands. You will get an insider perspective of working with a diverse range of industries.

You’ll also have the opportunity to help develop their technology and then see first-hand the positive impact of those developments at future events.

The role is hard work and deadline-driven, so to be successful in this role you will need to be organised, diligent and keep a positive mindset.

We’re looking for a candidate who feels they share these values.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure smooth execution of onsite services
  • Pre-event client communications regarding technical requirements
  • Full set-up and testing of software and equipment in house for onsite jobs, including customisation of the solution for the project
  • Onsite set-up, training and technical support at events
  • Reporting live data and producing post-event reports
  • Set up of ‘dry hire’ equipment (for client to use without onsite support) and providing remote support
  • Training team members to develop their skills
  • Contribute to the improvement of tech solutions, and developing new ones
  • Maintain hardware and manage equipment logistics
  • Produce documentation for systems
  • General assistance to the team as required

The Person

  • A higher-level qualification in an IT discipline or equivalent commercial experience within a technical role
  • 12 months or more work experience
  • Candidates must be competent in using database systems, e.g. able to write SQL queries
  • Presentable with strong customer facing skills and clear communication
  • Organised and disciplined approach to work
  • UK driving licence

Advantageous skills

  • Working with API integration, SQL Server, AWS (RDS, S4, EC2), HTML, CSS, Javascript, Python, VBA, Excel, Adobe Creative Suite
