Year 5 Teacher - Croydon
A vibrant primary school in Croydon is recruiting a confident Year 5 Teacher to start in January 2026. The successful Year 5 Teacher will provide high-quality teaching that deepens pupils’ subject knowledge, develops reasoning skills in mathematics and prepares learners for the demands of upper KS2. Croydon’s school places a strong emphasis on inclusive practice, enrichment opportunities and staff development; the Year 5 Teacher will be supported with coaching and a clear induction programme in the weeks leading to January 2026.

The Year 5 Teacher will lead class teaching, oversee assessment cycles and contribute to whole-school improvement initiatives. This role is ideal for a practitioner who enjoys curriculum design and collaborative leadership within a busy Croydon school community.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver sequenced Year 5 lessons that challenge and inspire pupils.
- Monitor progress and use assessment to refine teaching and interventions.
- Lead small-group teaching and support learners with differing needs.
- Contribute to cross-curricular projects and enrichment activities.
- Foster strong links with families and external partners to support pupil development.
Person specification
- Qualified teacher with recent KS2 experience, ideally including Year 5.
- Strong curriculum knowledge, excellent classroom management and reflective practice.
- Able to work collaboratively and contribute to a positive staff culture in Croydon.
- Enthusiastic about professional development and school improvement.
- Available to begin in January 2026 and to be based in Croydon.
