The Role

As a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Intern your primary objective is to help deliver our educational initiatives across the UK & Ireland. You will work closely with other team members to organise events, help design and deliver content, and encourage and manage employee volunteering. In this role you will also help with research projects and content creation. For this role you should be able to be in the TCS London office as needed on a weekly/monthly basis, as well as to travel across the UK and Ireland to events and other TCS offices when required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the successful delivery of our TCS community outreach educational initiatives that aim to inspire young people to pursue careers in STEM.
- Promote and manage employee volunteering both with our STEM and charity partnership initiatives.
- Contribute to providing data for various reports, for a variety of stakeholders.
- Write articles, case studies and internal & external communications on behalf of the CSR team.
- Maintain good relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- General administrative support for the CSR team.
Your Profile:
Essential skills/knowledge/experience:
- A keen interest in social mobility through education and mentoring.
- The ability to engage with and present to young people as well as a variety of audiences.
- Familiarity with the UK education sector and passion for encouraging young people’s aspirations.
- Proactive and confident with strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent writing and research skills and the ability to synthesise research.
- Knowledge of all MS Office products including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Creative marketing and social media skills.
- Keen attention to detail and a methodical way of working.
- Ability to work effectively with people at all levels in an organization.
- Capacity to work collaboratively in a team environment as well as self-manage.
- Commitment to continuous learning and an ability to learn quickly and take up new challenges.
Desirable skills/knowledge/experience:
- Familiarity with STEM and an interest in encouraging more young people into careers in the tech sector.
- Teaching/ Mentoring Experience.
- Experience or knowledge of Corporate Social Responsibility/Sustainability.
- Experience of volunteering.
- Knowledge and/or experience of the charitable sector.
