About the Role:

We are seeking a Maintenance Electrician to support the safe, reliable and compliant operation of all electrical infrastructure within our facility. This includes lighting, power distribution, building controls and wider electrical systems, along with secondary support for production machinery maintenance.

You’ll carry out electrical maintenance, repairs and preventive tasks while ensuring compliance with safety standards and contributing to continuous improvement across our operations. The role plays an important part in maintaining manufacturing uptime, protecting facility integrity and supporting long-term reliability.

Role Responsibilities:

• Maintain, troubleshoot and repair building-wide electrical systems, including lighting, circuits, panels, receptacles and emergency systems.
• Perform routine inspections, testing and preventive maintenance on facility electrical infrastructure.
• Ensure all building electrical systems comply with safety codes, regulations and internal standards.
• Support maintenance technicians with electrical fault finding on production equipment.
• Assist with installation, wiring and testing of new equipment and contribute to root cause analysis for electrical failures.
• Complete scheduled preventive and predictive maintenance tasks, recording all work clearly using CMMS or maintenance logs.
• Identify hazards, recommend corrective actions and ensure all electrical work meets reliability and safety expectations.
• Support electrical elements of facility upgrades, layout changes and continuous improvement projects.
• Communicate clearly with production, engineering, maintenance teams and external contractors regarding work status and downtime requirements.
• Guide less experienced team members when required.

What you'll need:

Qualifications

• Qualified Electrician with AM2 or equivalent final skills assessment.
• Recognised electrical apprenticeship or Level 3 electrical qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 3).
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).

Knowledge

• Strong understanding of electrical safety practices and legislation.
• Familiarity with SCADA or automated systems.
• Knowledge of controls, instrumentation and building electrical infrastructure.

Experience

• Proven industrial, commercial or manufacturing electrical maintenance experience.
• Strong electrical fault finding background.
• Experience using CMMS systems for logging and managing maintenance tasks.
• Exposure to continuous improvement, problem analysis and equipment reliability.

Skills

• Able to work independently while also contributing effectively within a team.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Confident interpreting electrical schematics and technical documentation.
• Good IT, literacy and numeracy skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal style.
