We are seeking an experienced and driven Construction Manager to lead the successful reservicing and renovation of some of London's most prestigious historic buildings. Working on highly demanding projects, you will play a key role in managing construction activities from pre-construction through to completion, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on outstanding projects that support London's world-famous heritage landscape. You will collaborate closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams to deliver complex reservicing works within the historic fabric of iconic London landmark buildings.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day site operations across complex heritage, landmark, and prestigious building projects
Lead and coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams to ensure efficient project delivery
Ensure all works are carried out in line with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards
Monitor programme performance and proactively manage risks, delays, and site challenges
Drive exceptional standards of workmanship, ensuring compliance with conservation requirements, technical specifications, and client expectations
Work closely with project stakeholders, including clients, consultants, architects, heritage specialists, and design teams
Oversee logistics planning, sequencing of works, and site coordination activities, particularly within occupied, sensitive, or historically significant environments
Support cost control and commercial performance in collaboration with the wider project team
Chair site meetings and provide regular progress updates and reports
Promote a collaborative, solutions-focused culture on site
About You
To be considered as a Construction Manager, you will need to demonstrate:
Proven experience in a Construction Manager role delivering complex building projects
Previous experience working on heritage, listed, historic, restoration, refurbishment, landmark, cultural, or prestigious building projects is highly desirable
Strong interpersonal skills, with the confidence, discretion, and diplomacy required to build relationships with discerning clients and project teams
Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, building services coordination, and health & safety legislation
An understanding of conservation principles and the challenges associated with working within historic and occupied buildings would be advantageous
Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders
Organised, proactive, and confident in solving technical and operational challenges
Able to thrive in complex project environments while maintaining exceptional attention to detail
SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid qualifications preferred
A passion for delivering high-quality projects that preserve, enhance, and celebrate some of the UK's most iconic and historic buildings
