Business Producer – Renewable Energy Insurance
I’m currently working with a respected insurance company that’s actively expanding its presence in the renewable energy insurance market. We’re looking for a driven, strategic Business Producer with deep market knowledge and strong relationships in the renewable energy sector.
This is a revenue-generating role focused on identifying, developing, and converting profitable renewable energy opportunities. If you’re a client / market-facing producer who thrives on building strong pipelines, influencing strategy, and helping shape the future of clean energy insurance, this is an opportunity worth exploring.
The Role
As a Business Producer, you'll be the face of the business to the renewable energy market—responsible for identifying new opportunities, nurturing key relationships, and driving profitable growth across a diverse portfolio.
You’ll partner with all internal and external parties; clients, brokers, underwriters, risk engineering, and product teams to shape bespoke solutions for clients across technologies including:
- Utility-scale solar (PV and CSP)
- Onshore and offshore wind
- Battery energy storage systems (BESS)
- Hybrid and emerging clean energy solutions
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute business development strategies to drive growth and expand market share in the renewable energy sector.
- Act as a primary point of contact for brokers, underwriters and clients, fostering long-term, profitable relationships.
- Collaborate with underwriters to structure tailored coverage solutions aligned with client needs and company appetite.
- Represent the business at key industry events, conferences, and client meetings.
- Maintain strong visibility in the market and identify future trends and opportunities.
- Monitor competitor activity and support market positioning efforts.
What I'm Looking For
- 5–10+ years of experience in a business development or production role within the insurance or renewable energy space.
- Proven ability to generate and convert new business opportunities, particularly in renewable energy, infrastructure, or power generation.
- Strong understanding of energy insurance products, risk dynamics, and project life cycles (construction & operational).
- Well-connected in the broker & underwriter community with the ability to open doors and build trust.
- Commercial mindset, negotiation strength, and client-first approach.
- Comfortable collaborating across broking & underwriting, risk, legal, and product teams.
- Experience in both US & International markets is highly desirable.
