Overview
Flannery Plant Hire is a leading provider of plant hire and specialist attachments to the construction industry across the UK and Ireland. With a comprehensive fleet of innovative machinery, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional customer service and meeting our clients' project requirements.
We are looking for professional and reliable Class 1 (C+E) and Class 2 (C) HGV Drivers to join our growing Transport Team.
You will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery and collection of plant, machinery, and equipment to customer sites and depots across the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely deliver and collect a range of plant and equipment to customer sites and depots.
- Work closely with the Transport Desk to meet planned delivery schedules.
- Complete daily vehicle checks and ensure DVSA and company compliance at all times.
- Correctly secure loads following safety standards and legal requirements.
- Provide excellent customer service on-site and act as a professional representative of Flannery.
- Maintain accurate delivery/collection records using digital or paper systems.
- Report defects immediately and maintain vehicle cleanliness and roadworthiness.
- Follow all site-specific rules and adhere to Health & Safety and RAMS procedures.
Role-Specific Responsibilities
Class 1 HGV Driver (C+E)
Operate low loaders and other specialist trailers to transport heavy plant such as excavators, dumpers, rollers, and attachments.
Handle complex loading/unloading tasks involving oversized or heavy machinery.
Class 2 HGV Driver (C)
Operate Class 2 vehicles such as beavertail trucks for plant delivery and collection.
Assist with safe loading/unloading of machinery using ramps and onboard equipment.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
Valid Class 1 (C+E) or Class 2 (C) HGV Licence
Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
Experience transporting plant, machinery, or heavy equipment
Strong knowledge of safe loading, securing, and unloading
Good understanding of transport legislation and compliance
Safety-focused, reliable, and customer-service orientated
Previous experience in plant hire, construction logistics, or heavy haulage
Experience with low loader or beavertail operation
NPORS, ALLMI, or IPAF qualifications
Knowledge of large infrastructure or construction site procedures
