About the Quality Controller job
Reporting to the Quality Manager, this role is responsible for ensuring all incoming produce is assessed against quality standards, helping to maintain product excellence, reduce waste, and support the consistent delivery of high-quality products to our customers.
Key tasks
- Carry out quality inspections on incoming deliveries and market purchases, ensuring products meet company standards. Purchase products from the market as required, transport stock between sites, and manage intake documentation, pallet labelling and product rejections.
- Monitor produce quality, and stock rotation to minimise waste and ensure products are suitable for packing. Conduct quality checks on packed products and packaging to ensure customer specifications are met.
- Work closely with Production Managers and Line Leaders to resolve quality issues and maintain high packing standards. Identify training needs and support improvements in grading, waste reduction and product quality.
- Report quality concerns to the Quality Manager and participate in operational meetings to review performance, address issues and support continuous improvement initiatives.
About You
- The successful candidate shall have a minimum of 2 years Quality Control experience in a fresh produce environment.
- Excellent numerical and communication skills and ability to drive a van is essential.
- Fruit checking experience would be advantageous.

The Quality Controller job (ref:9072) is paying £29,000 according to your experience.
The working hours are 40 hours and 5 nights per week (Sunday to Thursday), 11pm to 7am.
The site is in Croydon, Greater London and is commutable from areas of South London, Kent and Surrey.
