Staff Product Designer - Fincrime

Your mission:

We’re seeking a talented Staff Product Designer to join our FinCrime team in London. In this role, you will be part of the team that designs and enhances products for our diverse global customers and Wise’s operations agents, with a particular focus on detecting and preventing financial crimes, including fraud, scams, and money laundering.

FinCrime agents play a crucial role in identifying suspicious behaviours, combating cybercrime, and ensuring Wise's security. You will collaborate with product teams to transform complex workflows into intuitive and user-friendly experiences, while creating configurable and scalable components that are effective across a variety of use cases.

This is a unique opportunity to design state-of-the-art systems to prevent financial crimes and protect our customers and their money. Your work will directly contribute to the growth of Wise and our mission -- money without borders.

Here’s how you’ll be contributing:

• You will develop a deep understanding of Wise customers and their goals.

• You will develop a nuanced understanding of the ever-changing landscape of financial crime typologies and behaviours.

• You will engage with agents to build empathy and gain insight into the challenges they face when using our internal products.

• You will leverage your full range of Product Design skills to discover, design, and deliver simple, crafted experiences that both agents and customers love, while helping Wise increase security.

• You will play an influential role in your cross-functional team, enhancing customer-centricity, creativity, and design quality.

About you:

• You’ve got a portfolio of well-crafted, impactful work that solves real problems for real people.

• You have experience designing starting with first principles for impact. Experience designing internal tools is a big plus.

• You default to prototyping when presenting your work, and you experiment with multiple approaches. You can clearly articulate the tradeoffs between the approaches and confidently advocate for the best path forward.

• You understand that good design is often a journey to identify the right thing to build, using early concepts and prototypes to help build conviction along the way.

• You’ve worked with design systems to produce beautiful and functional design that scales.

• You practise evidence-based design, and can rationalise your decisions clearly and credibly.
