The Chancery Rosewood, is redefining luxury in Mayfair, housed in the former U.S. Embassy and reimagined by Sir David Chipperfield. With 144 suites by Joseph Dirand and a collection of dynamic dining and bar spaces, it’s a place where experiences are curated, conversations flow, and every detail matters.
As an Assistant Bar Manager, you are a key member of our bar leadership team — combining the craft and energy of an exceptional bartender with the operational discipline and people leadership of a manager. This is more than an operational role; it is about Relationship Hospitality: reading the room, anticipating needs, and delivering moments of genuine connection with every interaction. If you take pride in flawless execution, thrive in a dynamic environment, and are driven by the joy of leading a team and making people feel truly looked after, we would love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire the bar team on the floor, ensuring every guest interaction reflects Rosewood's warmth, personality, and genuine hospitality.
- Coach, develop, and support your associates day to day, providing feedback and guidance that helps every team member grow in confidence and craft.
- Oversee drink standards, service flow, and presentation, maintaining an active, attentive presence throughout every service.
- Support the recruitment, onboarding, and training of new team members, ensuring every associate is set up for success from day one.
- Manage stock ordering, inventory, and storage with accuracy and commercial awareness, upholding all responsible alcohol service guidelines.
- Take full duty management responsibility for the day-to-day running of the bar, supporting the Bar Manager and Director of Bars with sound judgement and calm authority.
- Contribute to the creative development of the beverage programme, collaborating on seasonal menus, signature cocktails, and new initiatives.
- Navigate the pace and pressure of live service with composure, adapting seamlessly to evolving menus, guest needs, and business demands.

- Influencing — You lead by example, communicating with clarity and confidence whether training your team, resolving a guest concern, or reinforcing brand standards under pressure.
- Integrity — You manage with honesty, accuracy, and calm authority, taking full ownership of the bar's performance, compliance, and standards on every shift.
- Drive — You bring genuine ambition and energy to the role, continuously raising standards for the guest experience and team performance without needing to be asked.
