Senior Quantity Surveyor – Major AMP8 Water Infrastructure Project

A leading civil engineering and utilities contractor is currently delivering one of Thames Water’s largest and most high-profile AMP8 programmes. Due to continued growth across the framework, an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor is required to support the commercial delivery of this major water infrastructure project.

This role offers the opportunity to work on a long-term, complex AMP8 scheme with strong visibility, stability, and progression potential.

The Role
The Senior Quantity Surveyor will take responsibility for the commercial management of key work packages from pre-construction through to final account. Working closely with operational, design, and client teams, the role will involve cost control, procurement, contract administration, and change management under NEC forms of contract.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial management of water infrastructure works throughout the project lifecycle

Administration of NEC contracts, including compensation events and change control

Cost forecasting, reporting, and commercial risk management

Procurement and management of subcontractors and supply chain partners

Supporting junior members of the commercial team

Building effective working relationships with Thames Water and project stakeholders

Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will be a commercially focused Senior Quantity Surveyor with experience working within the water or utilities sector. A strong understanding of NEC contracts and the demands of large-scale, regulated infrastructure projects is essential.

Key Requirements

Proven experience in a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor role

Background in water treatment, utilities, or major infrastructure projects

NEC contract experience (NEC3 and/or NEC4)

Strong commercial and contractual capability

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
