FASHION DESIGNER (MID-LEVEL)
FASHION DESIGNER - JOB ROLE/DUTIES
Opportunity to join a highly successful and well established supplier of ladieswear, menswear and childrenswear multiproduct categories to major retailers. This is a role for a Mid-Level Fashion Designer, to join our dynamic design team based in the London office, UK.
You will be working within a small fast-paced team as well as working closely with the wider business, reporting directly to the Design Manager.
4+ years in the Fashion Industry, across product and design.
This position is onsite 5 days per week in our Central London office.
The Role:
- Weekly catch up meetings with Design Manager & Design Director, to discuss priorities for the week ahead (daily if required during peak season)
- Contribute new ideas, developing seasonal mood boards, identifying trends and fashion colours specific to customer profile.
- Collaborate effectively within a fast-paced, creative team environment
- Confident communication and presentation skills, working closely with buyers and cross-functional teams to deliver designs that meet customer briefs and market trends
- Design seasonal capsule collections along with key shapes, colour palettes and fabric direction, with a strong commercial handwriting, the timescales given.
- Produce clear and accurate cad designs, creating original artworks, full repeat prints, graphics, trims and 1:1 scale artwork for factory sampling, in the correct format required.
- Assist the Design Director with any ad hoc admin duties.
The Candidate:
- A strong portfolio showcasing commercial designs, ideally across the Menswear intimates sector, including underwear, nightwear & socks.
- Proficient skills in Photoshop & Illustrator, computer literate including Microsoft Office and Excel.
- Proven experience within a supplier or brand environment
- An eye for attention to detail, with strong organisational skills
- Knowledge of fabric and trims, with understanding of garment construction and patterns.
- Experience working with and liaising with factories.
- Excellent communicator with attention to detail, and confident presentation skills.
- Proactive, self-motivated individual with the ability to work independently but also as part of a team.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
- Must be eligible to work in UK.
