Underwriting Performance Data Analyst
We are seeking an Underwriting Performance Data Analyst with prior experience in an underwriting capacity to join a growing analytics and performance function. This role is well suited to someone with a curious mindset who is motivated to help define and influence how the business assesses underwriting performance as it continues to evolve.
The successful candidate will play a key role in analysing underwriting performance across both individual classes of business and at portfolio level. You will be responsible for identifying trends, risks, and opportunities, and for delivering high quality management information and data analysis that supports strategic decision making and effective performance oversight across the business.
Working closely with underwriting teams and senior stakeholders, you will produce clear and insightful reporting packs tailored to different audiences. You will also contribute to the ongoing development and continuous improvement of reporting, analytics, and MI frameworks, ensuring outputs remain commercially relevant and actionable.
The role requires a strong understanding of Lloyd’s and the wider insurance and reinsurance market, alongside sound knowledge of insurance profit and loss accounting practices and the key drivers of underwriting performance. An understanding of portfolio management principles and strong technical underwriting expertise are also essential.
Candidates should have proven experience in producing underwriting management information and reporting packs, with a demonstrated track record of supporting strategic decision making through data driven insights. A high level of data literacy is required, together with experience using business intelligence tools such as Business Objects and QlikSense.
This is an opportunity to take on a visible and influential role within a business that values insight, curiosity, and commercial thinking, and where analytics plays a central role in shaping underwriting strategy.
