Roster Clerk

Rate: £135 per day
Contract: 3 months, inside IR35
GTS Transportation is supporting our client, a leading rail operator, in sourcing a Rostering Assistant to join their Service Delivery team on a short-term contract. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong organisational skills, IT literacy, and an interest in the rail industry to play a key role in ensuring services run smoothly.
As a Rostering Assistant, you'll work closely with operational managers and planners to build and maintain accurate staff rosters across stations, traincrew, and ancillary services. You'll be using industry-standard systems and processes to make sure resources are planned effectively, deadlines are met, and operational requirements are delivered on time.
Key aspects of the role include:
Assisting with the preparation of long-term and weekly rosters.
Processing annual leave, sickness, and other absence requests.
Liaising with various departments to address staffing requirements and potential resourcing issues.
Producing management reports and ensuring payroll data is accurate.
Supporting compliance with policies, agreements, and regulations. We're looking for someone with:
Strong IT and data-handling skills.
Experience in a rostering, scheduling, or administrative role (ideally within rail or transport).
A proactive approach to problem-solving and stakeholder communication.
The ability to work accurately under time pressures. This is a 3-month contract paying £135 per day inside IR35, so it would suit someone available immediately or at short notice.
