A teaching assistant is needed for a good (Ofsted) special educational needs (SEN) school in North London.
As a teaching assistant at this SEN school, you will be working with students of all ages with autistic spectrum disorder (ASD) and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
This school is easily accessible from around London, with great transport links.

Willingness to do personal care is preferred for this teaching assistant role.
Your responsibilities as a teaching assistant may include:
- Working with and supporting students with ASD and SEMH, which may include students who are non-verbal.
- Providing academic support, either one-on-one or in a small group.
- Promoting a positive and inclusive classroom culture and providing emotional support when needed.
- Implementing behaviour management strategies to maintain a positive and safe learning environment.
- Using positive reinforcement techniques to encourage focus and self-control.
- Assisting with lesson planning and delivery.
- Being aware of safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of students.
To be a teaching assistant you will need:
- The right to work in the UK.
- A clear and up-to-date DBS.
- Experience working as a teaching assistant.
- A patient and caring attitude with the ability to remain calm when faced with challenging behaviour.
