Credit Analyst Internship, Asset Management, London

Altana Wealth is seeking a talented and ambitious intern with excellent communication, analytical and business skills to join our investment team. This is an outstanding opportunity for an individual eager to develop their expertise and build a career within an entrepreneurial, high-performing and results-driven environment.

Company profile

Altana Wealth is an award-winning asset management company headquartered in London, with an affiliated office in Monaco. Backed by partners’ capital, we manage a diverse range of funds across multiple asset classes on behalf of professional clients and eligible counterparties. We are authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority in the UK. Further information can be found at .

Team profile

Our people come from diverse backgrounds and cultures, united by a shared commitment to high performance and differentiated alpha generation. We value innovation, transparency, and full alignment with our investors across all strategies. Passion, dedication and results are at the heart of our culture, and we recognise and reward exceptional performance.

The credit team invests across the capital structure in a wide range of debt instruments—including bonds, credit derivatives and hybrid securities—with a focus on event-driven opportunities. We analyse performing, stressed, and distressed credits on both the long and short side.

Your internship

As an intern, you will gain exposure to the entire investment process: from idea generation and company research to trade construction and execution.

The internship provides an intensive and immersive learning experience, including:

  • Direct exposure to senior management.
  • Structured reviews and feedback sessions.
  • Hands-on responsibility in live projects.

This role offers a unique opportunity to deepen your knowledge of asset management and the hedge fund industry, while contributing meaningfully to the success of the team.

Duration: Flexible, with a minimum commitment of 8–12 weeks. The role is typically full-time (5 days per week), but we can offer flexibility depending on availability.

Development Opportunities

  • Practical Experience: Engage directly with the day-to-day challenges of investment management, supported by colleagues and senior leaders.
  • Professional Growth: Benefit from mentoring, structured feedback, and tailored development opportunities.
  • Meaningful Contribution: Play an active role in the team’s investment process and decision-making.
  • Skill Building: Enhance your capabilities in financial analysis, valuation, and accounting through exposure to diverse investment cases.
  • Training and Resources: Access the tools, frameworks and guidance needed for fundamental research and relative value analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting bottom-up company and industry research to support idea generation.
  • Gathering and synthesising macroeconomic, financial, and operational data.
  • Building and maintaining financial models.
  • Preparing presentations and investment memoranda for internal and external use.
  • Participating in team discussions and, where relevant, client meetings.

Candidate Profile

We are seeking motivated individuals who demonstrate:

  • Academic Excellence: Strong academic performance with evidence of intellectual rigour.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to express ideas clearly and confidently, both in writing and verbally.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in Chinese is essential for this client-facing role.
  • Interest in Financial Markets: Genuine curiosity about companies, industries and capital markets.
  • Entrepreneurial Mindset: Flexible, open-minded and eager to embrace innovation.
  • Analytical Ability: Strong quantitative and qualitative skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Resilience and Creativity: Capacity to think independently, solve problems, and contribute to collaborative solutions.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-moving environment.
  • Professionalism: Diplomacy, assertiveness, and the ability to engage constructively with stakeholders.
  • Experience: Prior internships or work experience in finance or related fields are advantageous.
  • Personal Achievements: Evidence of drive and ambition, demonstrated through academic, professional, sporting or extracurricular accomplishments.

If you would like to be considered, please apply by submitting a covering letter, CV, transcripts, and any other relevant supporting documents. Two academic or professional references may also be requested at a later stage.
