Computer Science Teacher - High-Achieving Secondary...
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: Paid to scale (Outer London Framework)
The Role
A premier, high-achieving Secondary Academy in Barking & Dagenham is seeking a professional, highly analytical, and exceptionally organised Computer Science Teacher to join their expanding STEM faculty. This role represents a brilliant opportunity to champion digital literacy and advanced computing skills within a heavily resourced department featuring modern network laboratories, dedicated programming suites, and hardware prototyping tools.
The successful candidate will provide day-to-day instructional leadership across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5. The timetable will involve delivering a rich, challenging curriculum covering software development architecture, computational logic, algorithm design, and network systems at A-Level, alongside data representation, cyber security frameworks, and software programming at GCSE. Beyond classroom teaching, responsibilities include constructing comprehensive student tracking portfolios, implementing targeted technical intervention tracks for code fluency, managing parental correspondence, and actively leading the school’s competitive coding clubs, robotics leagues, and regional hackathons.
You will act as a primary link with parents, examination boards, and local technology networks, requiring absolute professionalism and data accuracy at all times. Strong organisational skills are a prerequisite, as you will balance heavy mock diagnostic marking cycles with real-time digital progress logging and practical code debugging cycles within a busy secondary school framework.
