Staff Cloud Engineer - Platform & Infrastructure

As Staff Cloud Engineer - Platform & Infrastructure, you will head our high-performing team of Cloud Engineers, DevSecOps specialists, and SREs. Your focus will be scaling our AWS infrastructure using AWS CDK while building a platform culture that supports security, velocity, and resilience across Performativ’s entire product suite.

You will be used to heavy-lifting as an IC, while also being able to coach and mentor others on a small infra team.

What you’ll do 📈

• Lead the design, build, and evolution of scalable, secure, and observable AWS infrastructure using AWS CDK.
• Manage and mentor a cross-functional team spanning Cloud Engineering, SRE, Platform, and DevSecOps.
• Drive adoption of infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, and security-by-default practices across our tech organization.
• Partner with engineering squads to ensure platform capabilities enable high development velocity and reliability.
• Own cost optimization and performance tuning across our AWS environments.
• Shape our cloud architecture strategy and ensure alignment with business objectives and compliance requirements.
• Lead incident response efforts and postmortems, embedding learnings into platform and team operations.
• Establish and track key platform KPIs including availability, deployment frequency, and MTTR.
• Collaborate closely with InfoSec and Compliance to support regulatory readiness (e.g., ISO, SOC2).

What we’re looking for 🎯

• 10+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure and platform engineering, including team leadership.
• Expert-level knowledge of AWS and deep hands-on experience with AWS CDK in production environments.
• Strong background in DevSecOps, infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, and observability practices.
• Proven ability to scale cloud platforms in a high-growth, high-regulatory tech environment.
• Experience building and leading high-performing technical teams across multiple cloud disciplines.
• Strong understanding of modern security, networking, and compliance in cloud-native architectures.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Comfortable working in fast-paced environments and navigating ambiguity with autonomy.
