ITV Green Room
The Film and TV Charity's Looking Glass report shows how tough it is at the moment in our industry. That's why ITV and FTVC are working together to support freelancers between jobs. ITV is looking for 20 freelancers to take part in our first peer-network pilot, kicking off in January at ITV's London Office and lasting until the end of April. Successful applicants will join other experienced freelancers from different aspects of production, coming together to support each other, receive an ITV mentor, attend events, training and workshops as well as having access to the ITV offices one day a week (lunch included!) When does it start? Applications close on Monday 5th January at 23.59, with all applicants (whether successful or not) informed by Friday 16th January. The first session will begin on Tuesday 27th January, with weekly sessions one day a week on a Tuesday until the final workshop on Tuesday 28th April. Who can take part? We are looking to support freelancers, or those between jobs, across the industry. You do not need to have worked at ITV before to be eligible. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds as well as those who are from underrepresented groups including People of Colour and/or D/deaf, Disabled and Neurodivergent groups. To be eligible to participate in the programme, you must: be at least 18 years old; be available for the entire programme duration, save for gaining employment during the programme duration; be a freelancer in the TV industry with at least five (5) years of experience in a behind-the-scenes role in the TV industry, currently not in employment or in a role, and looking for a new role; have the right to work in the United Kingdom; and be available to attend the ITV White City London premises weekly for the programme duration. What will I be asked to do? The ITV Green Room is a peer network so you'll be with a group of 20 experienced freelancers from different aspects of production. You'll come together once a week - sometimes there will be formal workshops, networking events or training sessions; on other weeks, the time is yours to use our offices and engage with each other as you need. Successful applicants will receive the key dates and activities prior to the initiative starting but the programme will run Tuesday 27th January to Tuesday 28th April 2026. As part of The ITV Green Room, you also get access to an ITV mentor who can support you and will commit to three sessions with you during the programme. At the end of the programme, we'll complete an interview with you to understand how you've found the initiative. This will help us understand the impact the programme has had and how we can improve it moving forwards. Over the pilot period, participants will receive: Workspace Access: One day a week access to the ITV London White City office as a cohort to work, connect, and have lunch together. Training & Development: "Lunch and learn" sessions covering topics such as resilience and understanding your strengths. Mentoring: Three dedicated coaching sessions with an ITV mentor to support career progression and contacts. Workshops & Networking: Three in-person workshops delivered in conjunction with ITV Academy, including an industry futures insight day and networking with ITV Studios label representatives, ITV Studios Talent Managers and Commissioners. Will my expenses be covered? We will be providing you with a voucher for food at the ITV White City office for the one day a week you're in the building or organising catering on workshop days. Free hot drinks are available on a self-serve basis in the office. We will also provide our Green Roomers with a £150 Oyster card towards the cost of travelling to and from the White City office across the three months.
