Senior Producer - Digital

To strategically lead and execute the production of high-impact, agenda-setting vertical format shortform content across Channel 4 News' digital platforms, driving maximum reach and engagement - and overseeing digital planning. This senior role demands an innovative, highly skilled storyteller with exceptional technical mastery and production capabilities, primarily focused on delivering premium vertical 'series' and sophisticated short-form video that defines Channel 4 News' presence in the evolving digital news landscape. The Senior Producer will also oversee the Digital team's day-to-day planning, including ensuring new shortform and other medium- and long-form content is well executed and communicated. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the production of exceptional, high-production-value short-form video journalism and vertical 'series' content for Channel 4 News' digital platforms, ensuring a 'shorts-first' approach to content conceptualization and execution
• Oversee digital planning to ensure newsgathering and opportunities for digital coverage of programme content is well aligned, and opportunities for integration seized upon
• Help iterate planning systems to give make planning happen increasingly autonomously and led by the desks and planners, with digital specialists adding expertise
• Craft compelling stories and coverage specifically optimized for diverse social media platforms, with a strong emphasis on innovative short-form explainers, premium vertical shortfrom content, and impactful news VTs
• Act as a senior editorial voice, contributing significantly to digital content strategy and decision- making, with particular expertise in identifying and championing 'shorts'-led initiatives and formats
• Support the digital news desk operations and breaking news response
• Execute the delivery of complex, high production value short-form videos, demonstrating mastery of advanced production techniques specifically tailored for vertical and mobile-first consumption
• Script, and picture edit or oversee picture editing of the content, particularly ensuring excellencene in short-form video editing, pacing, and visual storytelling
• Stay abreast of emerging trends, formats, and platform updates within the short-form video landscape, proactively proposing innovative approaches to maintain Channel 4 News' competitive edge
• Bring distinctive, exclusive stories that meet the high editorial standards of Channel 4 News, aimed at digital audiences and adaptable for broadcast
• Generate ideas for on-the-day coverage, digital series and long-term projects
• Demonstrate strong judgement about digital storytelling - with good understanding of online audience engagement and platform performance
• Ensure content meets the highest standards of accuracy and legal compliance · Maintain high editorial standards while exploring new digital formats
• Maintain exceptional standards of spelling, punctuation and grammar ·
• Contribute to Online News Editing and Digital Duty
• Work in accordance with ITN guidelines on health and safety in office and field environments
• Support output, news-desk or other programme teams as required following training
• Work in field operations domestically and internationally during breaking news events
• Coordinate with independent reporters and production companies

• Senior producer with extensive experience working with the highest standards of accuracy and attention to detail
• Exceptional video journalism credentials and digital native expertise, working to the highest editorial standards
• Proven track record of producing high-impact visual stories across multiple media platforms
• Experience in managing digital projects and supporting team operations
• Expert-level experience with production tools including professional cameras, drones, gimbals and lighting systems
• Advanced expertise in picture and audio editing, colour grading (Adobe software environment)
• Proficiency in creating sophisticated motion graphics and working with essential graphics (Adobe software environment)
• Experience with production system setup, maintenance and troubleshooting
• Strong understanding and knowledge of social media with proven success across multiple platforms
• Good experience in production-team management and excellent team-working skills
• Strong digital news judgement and understanding of successful formats across platforms
• Ability to manage substantial digital projects while exploring new formats that can succeed across TV and digital media
• High quality news judgement, editorial creativity and imagination
• Strong autonomous working capability with proven initiative and problem-solving skills
• Flair for expressing stories visually and excellent writing ability, particularly with longer-form or narrative-driven content
• Good understanding of complex legal situations and ITN Legal Compliance procedures
• Understanding of Channel 4 News' output and approach to news storytelling
• Calm under pressure with ability to adapt and maintain flexibility in dynamic environments
• Proven ability to work to strict deadlines in high-pressure environments
• Comfortable presence in team editorial meetings - able to present ideas and provide constructive feedback
