Research Assistant (Improving Communication with Adults with Learning Disabilities) - (ICALD)
- Undergraduate (or conversion) degree in psychology, health data science, health-related or other relevant subject.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills and ability to quickly build rapport with people from all backgrounds and walks of life and engage them respectfully and effectively in the research activities
- An understanding of the challenges facing adults with Learning Disability living in a range of residential contexts.
- Knowledge of guidance relating to data confidentiality / security in research.
- Demonstrated interest in at least one of the following areas: qualitative thematic analysis; mixed methods research, ethnographic methodologies.
- Evidence of research-related computing skills: word processing, NVivo, Reference management software, packages to support data analysis.
- Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a larger team.
- Highly flexible and willing to travel for data collection and conferences as required, including data collection out of typical working hours. Occasional overnight stays may be required.
- Postgraduate qualification in psychology, health data science, health-related or other relevant subject - or equivalent experience
- Expertise in working with individuals and families of people with learning disabilities.
- Demonstrated previous experience in working on a large research study/clinical trial in NHS, community or social care settings.
