Head of Service - Children & Young People with Disabilities Service
* To ensure high standards of service delivery in all areas of work related to the work of the Children & Young People with Disabilities Service.
* To ensure that service delivery is compliant with legislation and guidance, local and national policy and procedures across all service areas.
* To ensure high standards of casework that is working to standards in line with OFSTED good or outstanding. This includes high-quality assessments, risk analysis, case recording, care planning, and other related work areas.
* To ensure safe, timely and appropriate transfer of cases across Early Help, Children's Social Care and Adults Social Care.
* To ensure that the work of the service is in line with performance management expectations.
* To work with the Learning & Development Team to promote the professional development of early help practitioners, social workers, team managers and other staff and to contribute to the design and delivery of appropriate training.
* To ensure management information systems are in place to provide key information on performance across the Service and to use this information to plan continually improving performance.
* To ensure that all children identified as in need, subject to a child protection plan or in care have an allocated social worker and that children who are subject to a protection plan and who are looked after are visited in accordance with statutory timescales.
* To ensure that early help and social care casework across the Service is regularly reviewed and audited and that key themes arising from audits are addressed within a culture of continuous improvement.
* To ensure that support is provided at the earliest opportunity to children and young people with additional needs and disabilities through the intervention of the Portage Team and the CYPD Family Hub.
* To ensure there is effective multi-agency working together for all children and young people with additional needs and disabilities.
* Ensure that there is focus on promoting whole family assessment, family plans, outcomes focused interventions and reviews. Requirements of this Head of Service: * A social Work Qualification or equivalent.
* Worked in a Senior Management role, or as an Operational Manager in Children's Social Care and possess a strong knowledge of statutory expectations for Children's Social Care.
* Understanding of relevant legislation.
