SEN Teaching Assistant - Primary School Romford, East London A welcoming mainstream primary school in Romford is looking for a resilient and caring SEN Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with challenging behaviour. Responsibilities Work as an SEN Teaching Assistant providing 1:1 support for a child with SEN and behavioural needs. Implement strategies to manage challenging behaviour, using positive handling approaches where appropriate. Support the pupil's learning, social development, and emotional wellbeing. Work closely with teachers, the SENCo, and external professionals to follow individual support plans.Requirements Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant or supporting children with SEN/SEMH. Confidence managing challenging behaviour and using de-escalation techniques. Training in positive handling, Team Teach, MAPA or similar is desirable. A patient, calm, and consistent approach.
