Graduate Engineer – Main Contractor – London

About the Client: Our client is an established main contractor with offices in Greater & Central London and are involved primarily in new build & refurbishments projects in multiple sectors including residential, commercial, retail, industrial and educational projects.

About the Role: My client is looking for a Graduate Engineer to work closely with the Site engineer to learn all aspects of setting out as well as construction methodologies and sequencing.

About the responsibilities

* Work closely with the Site Engineer to develop a strong understanding of engineering principles and setting out techniques.

* Assist the Site Engineer in performing daily duties related to site operations and technical execution.

* Accurately set out works on site in line with project drawings and specifications, under supervision.

* Gain a thorough understanding of construction methodologies and the sequencing of works.

* Support the Site Manager and Project Manager in delivering Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (HSEQ) standards.

* Keep detailed and accurate site records, including photographic evidence and a daily site diary.

* Assist in measuring and taking off materials from drawings to support procurement and planning.

* Communicate effectively with all members of the site team to support smooth workflow and project delivery.

* Develop working relationships with subcontractors and external suppliers to assist in logistics and site coordination.

* Collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing to a ‘one team’ culture across the site.

* Ensure all tasks are carried out safely, efficiently, and to a high standard of quality.

About the Requirements:

* Hold a degree, HNC or HND in Engineering

* Hold a full clean UK driving license.

* Strong attention to detail, coupled with thorough planning and organisational skills.

* Strong good communication skills

* Desire to work well as part of a team

* Passionate about starting a career in the civils/construction industry
