Location: Wallington, SM6 Start Date: Feb Start Contract: Full-Time | Temp UET1 A well-regarded SEN school in SM6 is seeking a committed and experienced Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to lead and develop SEND provision across the school. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate SENCO to make a meaningful impact within a supportive leadership team. About the School The school is a welcoming, child-centred setting with a strong focus on inclusion and wellbeing. Leaders are committed to high-quality SEND provision and work closely with staff, parents, and external professionals to ensure every pupil reaches their potential. The Role As SENCO, you will:- Lead and manage SEND provision across the school in line with the SEND Code of Practice
- Oversee and review EHCPs, IEPs, and provision maps
- Identify pupils with additional needs and ensure appropriate support is in place
- Work closely with teachers to support quality-first teaching and differentiation
- Line manage and support SEN TAs and support staff
- Liaise with parents, external agencies, therapists, and the local authority
- Attend and contribute to annual reviews and multi-agency meetings
- Support staff with SEN training, strategies, and best practice
- Monitor progress and impact of interventions
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant SEN qualification
- National SENCO Award (completed or willingness to work towards)
- Proven experience supporting pupils with SEN, including EHCP processes
- Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice
- Confident, organised, and proactive leadership style
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Passionate about inclusive education
- Supportive and experienced senior leadership team
- Dedicated time for SENCO responsibilities
- Ongoing CPD and professional development
