Overview of the role:

The Social Media manager will play a key role in owning and shaping Betfair’s social media presence in Spain, working collaboratively with the wider marketing team to evolve and maintain the social media strategy by actively engaging Betfair players and fans and strengthening relationships with our brand. You will be responsible to develop innovative, best-in-class content within all social media and content platforms with a focus on business results, brand awareness and engagement. You will look for strategic ways to tell the brand’s story through clever social media content and marketing campaigns that drive conversation and promote Betfair to both current and prospective players. You will also play a key part in delivering all major brand campaigns in the digital space, bringing wider creative ideas to life specifically through the social lens.

The role requires a true social expert who is obsessed with emerging trends in social media and has the operational aptitude to enable them at pace. The ability to bring creative concepts to life, by working collaboratively with our in-house studio team and external collaborators alike, including content creators and our celebrity ambassador, Luis Figo.

What you'll do:

Defining monthly content plans for our social media channels platforms (including but not limited to Instagram, Facebook, X, TikTok, YouTube), aligning execution with the sporting calendar, customer behavioural trends and wider ATL and Digital campaign media plans

Collaborating with teams across Campaigns, Commercial, Brand Strategy, PR and Digital teams to build joined-up campaigns with complete cross-channel alignment

Deliver best-in-class social customer engagement experience by monitoring and actively engaging with Betfair player’s and fan’s questions, complaints, comments, or praise as soon as possible.

Managing a team of social media experts and content creators to deliver against brand goals.

Adopt, maintain, and apply the brand strategy and tone of voice to social community engagement tactics in collaboration with copywriters to build, foster, and grow the brand’s communities.

Identify and share influencer and content creator opportunities across multiple platforms, including but not limited to TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube, alongside the Online Media team.

Manage direct relationship with external Social Content and Influencer agency, delivering briefs, collaborating on ideas and managing their performance and KPIs

Leverage social media listening tools to identify key themes and topics across social media channels and make recommendations to improve brand efforts, priorities, and investments.

Capture and analyse appropriate social data/metrics, insights, and best practices; make recommendations for future campaign plans and report out to leadership and internal teams ensuring upwards visibility, as well as helping inform what metrics are valuable.

Regularly report on social trends, audience development and competitive brand insights to wider team

Manage monthly budgets, with paid media investment optimised based on performance insight.

Accountability for Quality Assurance, ensuring all campaigns are subject to robust QA processes, including against Spanish Royal Decree guidelines and Betfair’s own internal best practices, as well as Responsible Gambling guidelines

Formulating testing plans alongside the Marketing Tech and Customer Growth teams. Managing end to end testing processes including requirements gathering/documentation, seamless test design and accurate result measurement.

What you'll bring:

Fluency in Spanish and English is essential.

Demonstrable experience in owning and managing social media channels for large B2C brands.

Deep, technical understanding of social media platforms – you know the metrics that matter, the tactics that work, and the best practice techniques to implement them for each channel.

Highly creative and imaginative with strong conceptual skills.

Commercial acumen and a will to deliver projects that impact marketing metrics.

Outstanding organisational skills with demonstrated ability to prioritise workload and attention to detail.

Proficient in creating and presenting, in both English and Spanish, Go-to-Market plans, campaign laydowns and results to a diverse group of junior and senior stakeholders

Experience working with small and large influencers and content creators
